Peckoltia vittata is a species of catfish belonging to the subfamily Hypostominae of the Loricariidae family of catfish.This species possesses the L-number L015
Description
Peckoltia vittata grows to around 10 cm and hence its alternative name of 'Candy striped Peckoltia' possesses black and yellow stripes vertically along its body.
Males can be distinguished from females by the presence of small teeth-like projections or odontodes along the back half of its body.
Distribution
Peckoltia vittata is found throughout the middle and lower Amazon basin in South America.
