Peder Paus (businessman)

Peder Nicolas Paus (born 22 November 1945) is a Norwegian entrepreneur, banker and investor.

Paus co-founded Questerre Energy Corporation, where he also is chairman and a major shareholder, an oil company listed on Oslo Stock Exchange and in Canada.[1] He became a member of the board in 2000 and chairman in 2006.

He has held key positions in the bank Manufacturers Hanover Trust in London and New York.[2] From 1981 to 1995, he was CEO of the shipping company North Ltd Venture in London. He has also been a consultant for the British Ministry of Defence and the British Export Credits Guarantee Department.[2]

Paus holds a Master of Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley from 1971.[2] He is a son of the businessman and lawyer Per Christian Cornelius Paus and Countess Hedevig Wedel-Jarlsberg, and a grandson of Lord Chamberlain Peder Anker Wedel-Jarlsberg.
