Pelli Chesukundam (English: Let's Marry) is a 1997 Telugu film directed by Muthyala Subbaiah and produced by C. Venkat Raju and G. Siva Raju on Geetha Chitra International. Starring Venkatesh, Soundarya and Laila in the lead roles, the music was composed by Koti. The film was a Super Hit at the box office.[1]

Plot

Pelli Chesukundham was a story how Anand (Venkatesh) a multi-millionaire supports Shanti (Soundarya), victim of a rape. Shanti witnesses a murder committed by Kali Charan (Mohan Raj) and reports it in the police station. His brother (Satya Prakash) rapes her to take revenge and her family doesn't want her to stay with them. Anand, knowing everything welcomes her and gives her shelter in his house though society disapproves of it.

Anand slowly falls in love with Shanti but Shanti thinks high of him and doesn't want to get close with him. Meanwhile, Anand's cousin Laila (Laila) comes back from U.S.A and starts pursuing Anand. She slowly comes to know that Anand was in love with Shanti and leaves him. Anand and Shanti atlast reconcile and marry.
