Penny Rae Framstad (born November 12, 1960) is an American singer and songwriter whose musical style has been generally classified as pop, rock, and singer/songwriter influences. Many of her songs have been used in movies and TV. Her song, "Even Angels Fall," recorded by Jessica Riddle on Hollywood Records appeared in the film, 10 Things I Hate About You, and on the soundtrack, earning Framstad a gold record for album sales of over 500,000 copies. Her songs have been featured in White Chicks, Scrubs, The Office, Roswell, Summerland, Providence, JAG, The Real World, Starting Over, Dawson's Creek, Everwood, and Las Vegas.

Framstad was born in Santa Cruz, California. Her Mother, played piano, wrote poetry, and conducted the children's choir at their local church, The First Baptist Church of Santa Cruz. Her father, Raymond J Framstad, worked at Lockheed and bought Penny her first guitar when she was 10 years old. She began performing professionally at the age of 19.
