Pepperpot (lighthouse)

A pepperpot is a type of small lighthouse found mainly in Canada.

Pepperpots are generally harbor lighthouses, and are fairly small towers. They are usually shingled in wood and painted white; the lantern and trim are red. Many such lighthouses still exist across Canada.

Pepperpot lighthouses of a slightly different design are also found in Scotland, e.g. on the Caledonian Canal
