Per Michael Johansen

Per Michael Johansen (born 1960) is the current rector of Aalborg University in Aalborg, Denmark. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering and a PhD which he both received at Aalborg University. After graduating, he worked at Aalborg University for a short period at the Department of Physics. Later he was employed as a researcher at Risø DTU National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy for 15 years. In 2005 Johansen became Director of Svendborg International Maritime Academy. After his job as director, he returned to the education sector as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for 7 years at the University of Southern Denmark. In May 2014 he took over the rector position at Aalborg University from Finn Kjærsdam, who had been rector from 2006 to 2014.[1]
