Peru Mall
The Peru Mall is a shopping center located in Peru, Illinois. It is the largest mall within a 50 mile trade area. The mall is anchored by Bergner's, Sears, JCPenney, Marshalls, and Jo-Ann Fabrics, plus a movie theater.[1] Directly outside the shopping center are Applebee's and Subway restaurants. The 465,000-square-foot also(43,200 m2) serves as the major commercial center in the city of Peru.
History
Rubloff Company of Chicago built the mall in 1973 and 1974. It originally featured Bergner's and Montgomery Ward.[1] The mall later gained J.C. Penney as a third anchor, and underwent a renovation in 1989.[2] Sears later replaced the former Montgomery Ward, and Marshalls was added in 2006.
