Pete Musser
Warren V. "Pete" Musser (born 1928) is an American businessman.[1] The past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc.,[2] which he founded in 1953, he is now Chairman Emeritus and Chairman of the Musser Group.[3]
Early life and education
From the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area,[4] Musser earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Lehigh University in 1949.[5]
Career
Musser invested in many Fortune 500 companies, including QVC, Comcast, Novell, as well as funds such as Safeguard Scientifics, ICG, ICP, SCP Partners PA Early Stage, Safeguard International among others.[6][7][8][9][10] He was the Director of TyCom.[11][12][13]
He was a trustee to the board of Brandywine Realty Trust.[14]
The Musser Award for Excellence in Leadership from Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University is named for Musser, as is the Musser Scout Reservation, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Personal life
Musser is divorced from Betty K. Musser (née Umstad)[4][15] and Hilary Grinker Musser.[16][17]
