Peter Boeve (born 14 March 1957) is a former Dutch footballer who played for Ajax, Vitesse, Beerschot VAC and the Netherlands national team. He obtained a total number of 16 caps for his native country without scoring any goal. During his career, while playing for Ajax, he was four times champion of Netherlands, three time Netherlands' Cup winner and a winner of European Cup Winners' Cup.
Footballer
Left back in 1979 by Boeve was Ajax removed from Vitesse . The Ajax defense had much to contend with injuries. The defender was especially quick and constructive and very strong offensive. This fitted well in the game system Ajax where supporters could push the attack. Boeve would retain his place as an emerging left-long and as many as 296 official matches for the club which 228 games in the league. On February 10, 1980 Boeve Ajax scored 2000th league goal since the introduction of the Premier League in season 1956/1957 (although it is claimed by some sources that Charles Bonsink was). Boeve scored 0-2 in the match Ajax-Haarlem (1-3 final score). Ajax Boeve was four times champion ( 1979/80 , 1981/82 , 1982/83 , 1984/1985 ), 4 times 2nd (1980/81 , 1985/86 , 1986/87 , ( 1987/88 )) and 1 times 3rd ( 1983/84 ). Boeve was five times with Ajax Cup finalist (1979/80, 1980/81, 1982/83, 1985/86, 1986/87, the last three seasons as the cup winner). In 1979/80 European Cup semi-final was reached (goal difference +23 (31-8)), and in 1986/87, the European Cup Winners Cup was won. On September 16, 1987 Boeve got injured in the match against the Irish Dundalk FC . In an unfortunate collision with an opponent, he broke a rib and a punctured lung, he walked on. He would never return to the first team. After several matches in the second team, he decided not to try the Belgian Beerschot VAC. Boeve was considered one of the best left backs of his generation (in constructive and offensive way), and he came out 16 times for the Dutch national team.[1]
Trainer
After ending his active career as footballer Boeve became active as a trainer. Initially at amateur clubs such as DOVO, then he switched to professional football. He had not the success he had known as a player. As head coach, he joined RKC Waalwijk . After two years, he was discharged and went to work as an assistant coach atWillem II with the successful head coach Co Adriaanse . Together they made some time after the move to Ajax.When Adriaanse and Boeve both could leave in December 2001, with Ajax Boeve has tried for two years as coach of FC Zwolle . As of July 1, 2007 Boeve was again active in professional football as the new coach of FC Omniworld Almere. Here he was discharged on January 28, 2009 due to disappointing results. As of the 2011/12 season he was assistant head coach Darije Kalezic at the Belgian SV Zulte Waregem . On January 13, 2012 Boeve was after earlier Kalezic was put on the street, thanks for services rendered. In September 2013 he became assistant at AS Trenčín.
