Peter Johnsen

Dr. Peter Berghsey Johnsen was the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bradley University from July 2006 to July 2008.

Life and career

Johnsen received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He was Assistant and Associate Member at the Monell Chemical Senses Center and taught at the University of Pennsylvania.

He worked for the Agricultural Research Service from 1986 to 2006, beginning at the research lab in New Orleans and then serving as Center Director for the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, Illinois.

Johnsen has also been elected to the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and selected as Laboratory Director of the Year by the Federal Laboratory Consortium. He has also received an Olin Fellowship to work at the University of Oslo in Norway.

Personal life

Johnsen's wife, Polly Johnsen, is the AP Chemistry teacher at Dunlap High School in Dunlap, Illinois and has been teaching there for approximately nine years.
