Peter Leeds is a widely known financial analyst and investment personality who specializes in mass market investor education. Through media interviews with top outlets, public speaking appearances, investment seminars, and online publications, Leeds has reached millions of investors of various experience levels on six continents and nearly 100 countries.[1]

Peter Leeds has also done charity work with several non-profits such as The International Schizophrenia Foundation[2] and The International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine,[3] among others, to promote Orthomolecular medicine. This unconventional approach to health combats serious illnesses using mega-doses of natural vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. It was Peter Leeds' own diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and the subsequent success he had with Orthomolecular treatments, which gave rise to his educational efforts for select non-profit organizations.

Early life

In his early teens, Peter Leeds started investing in penny stocks. It was also at a young age that he began feeling the effects of multiple sclerosis.[4]

The Penny Stock Professional

When he was 14 years old, Peter Leeds invested in his first stock. It was a penny stock by the name of Siberian Pacific Resources, trading at 14 cents. Buying 30,000 shares, Peter Leeds had made a total investment of $4,200, which represented all of his savings.

Two weeks later, Siberian Pacific was halted on the stock exchange, never to trade again. This meant Peter Leeds lost his entire investment.[5]

Using this experience as a powerful lesson, Peter Leeds began studying the techniques and strategies of the greatest trading masters, such as Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Peter Munk, and others. He also learned a great deal about technical analysis.

While continuously learning and incorporating new tactics, Leeds began paper trading. This enabled him to test and refine his strategies without risking any more money. Soon, when he had started seeing success with his paper trades, he began to move back into the market and benefit from his new approach. He called his system Leeds Analysis, which proved successful in finding low-priced and speculative stocks that had better-than-average potential to increase in price.

A bigger part of Leeds Analysis is called "Third Level Analysis," and it recognizes the important roles of brand management, positioning (marketing), public relations, and product differentiation in corporate success, and therefore in the success of the underlying stock.

Leeds Analysis was made available to the public in 1998, with the formation of the Peter Leeds Penny Stocks newsletter.[6]

Through online presence, trading successes, word of mouth, and media coverage, the penny stock newsletter grew rapidly, selling over 30,000 [7] subscriptions by May 27, 2009. With readers from six continents and nearly 100 nations, it became and still is one of the most popular fee-based online financial newsletters in America.

Multiple Sclerosis

In his mid to late teens, Peter Leeds began feeling the effects of his multiple sclerosis, which had not yet been diagnosed. He experienced unexplained bouts of numbness in his limbs, dizziness, fatigue, and weakness. The symptoms would occur each year, and last for weeks at a time, before he would return to normal.[8]

Despite dramatically worsening symptoms with each progressive attack, it was not until 2005 that Peter Leeds received the official diagnosis based on two rounds of MRIs, evoked potentials procedures, and several other methods of testing for the illness.

Choosing not to deal with his illness by the conventional means recommended by the specialists, which involved pharmaceutical drugs, Leeds turned to a little-known approach called Orthomolecular medicine.[9]

Peter Leeds' Orthomolecular Treatments

Peter Leeds used Orthomolecular medicine to combat multiple sclerosis, and enjoyed great success in slowing the typical advance of the disease. Year after year MRI's showed no progression of the illness since treatment was initiated, and the major symptoms diminished.[10]

The specific treatment protocol for Peter Leeds included dietary restrictions (avoid caffeine, dairy, alcohol), and supplementation (mega-doses of vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids).[11]

To a display his gratitude, Leeds developed Peter's Promise, an educational website designed to promote Orthomolecular medicine.[12] He also acted as a spokesperson for the International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine, through which he promoted the benefits of the Orthomolecular approach through radio,[13] newspaper,[14] and television interviews.
