Peter Philipps

Peter Philipps was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.[1]

Biography

Philipps was born in Geisfeld, then in Prussia. Reports have differed on the date. During the American Civil War, he served with the 45th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army, achieving the rank of sergeant. He died on February 17, 1917.

Political career

Philipps was first a member of the Assembly in 1882. He was later re-elected in 1908. Other positions Philipps held include Mayor of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. He was a Republican.
