Phagwari (پھگواڑ ی)is a village and union council of Murree Tehsil in the Rawalpindi District of Punjab, Pakistan.[1] It is located at 33°58'60N 73°30'0E[2] in the north-west of the tehsil, it is bounded to the north by Dewal, to the west by Rawat, to the south by Potha Sharif and to the east by Kashmir. According to the 1998 census of Pakistan it had a population of 13,060.[3]

Tribe & Families

Majority of the Inhabitants of UC phagwari are Abbasi. Also Abbasi caste is divided in Families, the main families here are Mithwaal , Phatyal, Miryal, Tingraal and Kainwal. Also Raja and Chaudhary tribe also inhabit the area in smaller proportion.

Facilities

Phagwari is home to predominantly poor inhabitants, the area has not been economically prosperous due to lack of Government funding and infrastructure development, basic essentials such as regular water supply, safe roads, Colleges and higher education establishments have not been developed and this has left the local economy in need. There are some basic services and facilities available which are listed below.
