Phalarodon is an extinct genus of ichthyosaur. Its remains have been found in China, North America, and Spitsbergen.[1] The type species is Phalarodon fraasi Merriam 1910. Other species are: Phalarodon atavus (Quenstedt 1852), originally Ichthyosaurus atavus; Phalarodon nordenskioeldii (Hulke 1873) Maisch & Matzke 2000, originally Ichthyosaurus nordenskioeldii; Phalarodon major Maisch & Matzke 2000; and Phalarodon callawayi Schmitz 2004.
