Philip John Allen (5 November 1902–May 1992) was an English football full back who appeared in the Football League for Brentford.[2]
Club career
Brentford
A full back, Allen joined Division Three South side Brentford in 1922.[2] He made his first team debut for the club in a 1-0 defeat to Reading on 25 November 1922.[3] The appearance turned out to be his only first team outing during the 1922/23 season, but he managed two appearances in the following campaign, which came in defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Southend United in September and October 1923.[4] Confined mostly to the reserve team, Allen failed to make any further appearances before departing at the end of the 1923/24 season.[2]
Non-league football
After his release from Brentford, Allen dropped into non-league football and appeared for Southern League side Peterborough & Fletton United and Northamptonshire League clubs Wellingborough Town and Stamford.[2]
Personal life
Allen served in the Grenadier Guards.[2]
