Phillip Bentz was mayor of Murray, Utah from 1910 to 1912.[1] Mr. Bentz was born in Washington Court House, Ohio October 1, 1860. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years and as the Murray station superintendent.[2] He was an officer in the local Fraternal Order of Eagles.
During his time as mayor, Murray completed its plans for a water system within Murray. Murray City also acquired the South Cottonwood Ward cemetery from the LDS Church, and made it the municipal cemetery.[3]
