Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (diphosphate)
Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (diphosphate) (EC 4.1.1.38, phosphopyruvate carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, PEP carboxyphosphotransferase, PEP carboxykinase, phosphopyruvate carboxykinase (pyrophosphate), PEP carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxykinase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxytransphosphorylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxykinase, PEPCTrP, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxykinase (pyrophosphate), phosphoenolpyruvic carboxylase (pyrophosphate), phosphoenolpyruvate carboxyphosphotransferase, phosphoenolpyruvic carboxytransphosphorylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (pyrophosphate), phosphopyruvate carboxylase (pyrophosphate), diphosphate:oxaloacetate carboxy-lyase (transphosphorylating)) is an enzyme with systematic name diphosphate:oxaloacetate carboxy-lyase (transphosphorylating; phosphoenolpyruvate-forming).[1] This enzyme catalyses the following chemical reaction
- diphosphate + oxaloacetate phosphate + phosphoenolpyruvate + CO2
This enzyme also catalyses the reaction:
- phosphoenolpyruvate + phosphate pyruvate + diphosphate.
