Photon is a fictional comic book superhero from Image Comics. Created by Rob Liefeld, she first appeared in Team Youngblood, a spin-off comic of the popular Youngblood series of comic books.[1]

Fictional character biography

Photon is a member of a fictional alien race appearing in the Youngblood series of comics. He is a silver-and-blue-colored humanoid alien with a green flame coming from the top of his head a trait shared by all members of his race. His race comes from a planet called Acura and are known as Acurans. He was recruited as a member of the government sponsored Youngblood team for their away team, a separate team specialising in missions away from home and subsequent spin-off comic book.

Origin

Writer artist Rob Liefeld attempted to pitch a new ongoing Teen Titans series to DC Comics when plans fell through the idea was recycled into Youngblood. The character of Photon was originally along with fellow Youngblood member Combat to be a part of the Khunds, an alien race circa Legion of Superheroes but eventually became Photon.

Present

The character did not appear as part of the main team in the 2008 Youngblood relaunch from Joe Casey and Image Comics.[2]
