Phthanophaneron harveyi, the Gulf flashlightfish, is a species of flashlight fish endemic to the Gulf of Mexico where it is found at depths of from 32 to 36 metres (105 to 118 ft). This fish has been displayed in public aquariums. This species grows to a length of 8 centimetres (3.1 in) TL. This species is the only known member of its genus.
