Phyllodesmium poindimiei is a species of sea slug, an aeolid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Facelinidae.[2]

Distribution

The distribution of Phyllodesmium poindimiei includes Australia, New Caledonia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Hawaii.[3]

Description

The length of the slug is up to 50 mm. This species contains no zooxanthellae.[4][5]

Ecology

Phyllodesmium poindimiei feeds on the invasive octocoral Carijoa riisei,[4] but it cannot be used as a biocontrol of this octocoral.[4] The crab Thalamita integra is a predator of Phyllodesmium poindimiei.[4]
