Piano Trio No. 2 (Brahms)
The Piano Trio in C major, Op. 87, by Johannes Brahms was composed during 1880-2. It is scored for piano, violin and cello. It was first performed at a chamber music evening in Frankfurt-on-Main on 29 December 1882.
The trio is in four movements:
A typical performance lasts roughly 27-30 minutes.
First movement
C major, sonata form

A minor, theme and variations
Third movement
C minor (with tierce de picardie), scherzo and trio

C major, sonata form
