Pierre Valade (born 1986, Paris, France), is a French internet entrepreneur and co-founder and CEO of the calendar application, Sunrise.

Education

Valade was born in Paris, France and graduated from the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech with a master's degree in computer science. In his final year of college, Valade studied at the design school at Stanford University, where he was introduced to design thinking.

Career

In September of 2010, after graduating college, Valade moved to New York, where he worked as a software engineer for the gaming company FreshPlanet.

In February 2011, Valade attended the first Foursquare Hackathon and built, in less than 6 hours,[1] an app called Agora,[2] which got the attention of Foursquare’s CEO, Dennis Crowley.[3] In June 2011, Foursquare announced[4] that Valade will join their Product team as a designer.

In 2013, Valade co-founded Sunrise with Jeremy Le Van.[5] Two years later, on February 4, 2015, Sunrise was acquired by Microsoft for more than $100 million.[6]
