The Blessed Peter of Pisa (Italian Pietro di Pisa), born as Pietro Gambacorta, was the Italian founder of the Latin Catholic Congregation of Poor Hermits of St. Jerome.
Biography
Pietro (Peter) Gambacorta was born in 1355 as son of the Signore di Pisa (since 1347 hereditary chief) of the Republic of Pisa (which also included Tuscan rival Lucca).
Veneration
His liturgical feast is on June 17.
