Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune (PCCOE) is an engineering college in PCMC, India. Established in 1984 as Polytechnique giant in PCMC areas turned in for Engineering degree in 1999.

It is the first college considered of for developments in PCNTDA plannings. PCCOE is located near Ganesh Talaw in Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA).

It is only the second college in Pune University to have started working in two shifts. Apart from the regular 180, Mechanical, Computer and Electronics and Tele Communication Departments have 60 students each in the second shift.

Activities

Academics in PCCOE is disciplined with results at the par of best colleges in Savitribai Phule Pune University. Students of PCCOE are proving their talents at state and national level competitions for technical and non technical events. Along with results PCCOE has excellent placement. PCCOE is recently being known for its perfect conduct of Mega Campus Drives under Major Company Brands. The Pimpri Chinchwad Education trust who runs this institute is committed to its the social responsibility of providing quality and value based education. The students take initiative to organize and participate in activities through cells like NSS, Art Circle, R&D, Higher Studies, Student Development and Placement. Industrial tours and visits to various companies and corporates are organized to provide exposure to students to outside world.

Technical Events

To provide platform for budding engineers to showcase their technical abilities and knowledge PCCOE organize inter collegiate events "TECHLLIGENT" and "SPECTRUM". SPECTRUM is unique unique event in SPPU of First Year Engineering Students. TECHLLIGENT consists of events and competitions related to models, projects, papers, demonstrations and coding. Students of PCCOE have active participation in international level competitions like "ABU ROBOCON" and 'SAE BAJA' and 'Supra' and ACM ICPC.

Placements

Under T&P cell many major companies like Accenture, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Herbinger, Demag Cranes, Persistent and TCS have conducted their mega campus recruitument drives here. With about 64% students being placed.

Departments

The undergraduate academic programs offered in PCCOE are Mechanical Engineering,Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering,Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering along with post graduate courses in Mechanical Heat Power and Design, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Information Technology. The Management Programs MCA and MBA are offered for students after graduation. The First Year Engineering Department looks after the teaching and coordination of activities for First Year students. Prof. S.A. Fulambarkar and Dr. S.S. Sonar coordinate the activities.

PCCOE is known for excellent faculty. The Apex body of faculty to formulate policies and monitor the execution - Dean Academics DR. Jayant Umale, Dean R&D- Dr. H.U. Tiwari, Dean Industry Institute Interaction Prof. Shitalkumar Rawandale and Dean Student Development and Welfare Dr. Sheetal Bhandari. The Heads of the Departments( HOD) see for the academics, development and activities of the departments. HOD Mechanical - DR. S.S. Lakde, HOD Ele. & Telecomm. Dr. N.B.Chopde, HOD. Computer Dr. K.Rajeshwari, HOD. IT Dr. S.D. Thepade, HOD. Civil Dr. S.T. Mali, HOD. MCA Mrs. Anjana and HOD MBA Dr. Anuja Johari. The PG Departments are headed by ME Computer Prof. Anuradha Thakre, ME VLSI & Emb. Sys. Dr. Sheetal Bhandari, ME. Heat Power - Dr. Narendra Deore, ME- Design Prof. Amit Panchwadkar. The administrative department is headed by Registrar Mr. Prashant Patil along with Mrs. Ujawala Parab Office Supdt.

Ranking

Per the Indian Institute of Engineers visiting UoP, it was ranked 9th in the academic year 2007-08.

Entrepreneurship Cell of PCCOE

In 2010, a few students initiated the functioning of an active Entrepreneurship Development Cell to establish an entrepreneurial ecosystem on the campus. The cell has been named as KANISHK and has organized multiple events and workshops regarding Leadership, Team Management as well as Business Start-ups. The Entrepreneurship Week conducted between 13 to 18 February 2012 was the most successful event in the cell's history so far. The key members of the E-Week 2012's team include Aishwarya Chandrasekaran, Dipin Nair, Sneha Nakil under the leadership of Anikait Chavan and Ansh Bahri who have always played a vital role in shaping the cell being one of the founding members. Apart from the academics, institute also believes in creating leaders for the nation and thus PCCOE has always encouraged KANISHK and their leaders to discover new ways of spreading awareness about entrepreneurship.

ABU Robocon and SAE BAJA

PCCOE has been participating in ABU Robocon India since 2011. This has proved to be a real trigger to the robotics activities in PCCOE campus. Along with SAE BAJA, these competitions ensure that the students do not limit themselves to just theoretical knowledge and are exposed to handle practical and management based issues as well. The official name of the ROBOCON team is 'TEAM AUTOMATONS' while the SAE-BAJA team is 'RED BARON'. College also Participated in "SUPRA" the Race car Design Competition.
