Pinangwan
Pinangwan is a town located in the Nuh District of Haryana.
Geography
Pinangwan is located at 27.90°N, 77.10°E in the National Capital Region of Delhi (NCR). The town falls on the southern border of Haryana, near Alwar and Bharatpur Districts of Rajasthan. It is 100 km from the capital New Delhi and 355 km from state capital Chandigarh
Demography
Pinangwan has a population of 12,612 of which 6,521 are males while 6,091 are females, according to the Census of India 2011 report.[1]
History
Pinangwan is an old town. Qazi Dost Mohammad was the Qazi of Pinangwan during 17th century. He had one daughter Bibi Rabiya and two sons Deewan Idris Mohammad and Durwesh Mohammad. Bibi Rabiya was married to Qazi Abdul Baqi son of Qazi Ibrahim Ibn Qazi Mahmood ibn Hākim-e Shariah Shareef Qazi-e Aazam ibn Qazi Ziauddin.[2]
During Partition of India
The Town and nearby villages witnessed large scale migration of Muslims[3] particularly Khanzada community towards Pakistan and Hindu Punjabis from there settled here in significant numbers.
