Pineville High School (PHS) is a coeducational public high school located in Pineville, in Rapides Parish in central Louisiana.[2] The school opened in 1952. Previously, high school students north of the Red River attended either Bolton High School or Peabody High School in Alexandria.
Profile
Pineville High School is the largest high school in Rapides Parish. The school's enrollment is approximately 1,400 students as of the 2014-2015 school year.[3] The school has approximately one hundred faculty, staff, and administrators.
Arts
The school is designated as a magnet center for the creative and performing arts, which hosts award-winning programs in theatre, visual arts, and musical performance. The PHS Theatre has performed musicals such as Les Misérables, Jekyll & Hyde, Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Crazy for You, and Oklahoma!, among others. The notable Pineville High School Choral program consistently has the most All-State Choir members of any school in the state. The Pineville High School Rebel Band competes in marching band competitions across the state of Louisiana, and regularly scores superior ratings at each. The orchestra performs annual Christmas and Spring concerts, and the Theatre performs musicals year-round.
Academics
The curriculum includes gifted, honors, and regular level courses. Special education programs cater to students who are multi-handicapped and/or learning disabled. Academically, the school has the highest school performance score of any school in Rapides Parish.
Sports
Athletic teams include football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, track and field, powerlifting, swimming, and softball. Several Pineville teams have won 4-A district and state championships. The school was re-designated 5-A during the 2006-2007 school year. The Lady Rebels softball team has won ten district championships in a row as of 2009, and were state runners-up in 5A in 2008.

Pineville High has several student clubs, including the Beta Club, Chess Club, Future Business Leaders of America, 4-H, Key Club, National Honor Society,Quiz Bowl, and Bass Club
