Planalytics

Planalytics is a weather analytics, software, and services company based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. The company analyzes the impact of weather on business in industries including retail, CPG, agriculture, energy, insurance, and finance.[1]

The weather analytics are used to identify business opportunities and risks associated with weather volatility.[2] The analytics are derived by combining historical business and weather data, which provides a metric called Weather-Driven Demand. Weather-Driven Demand is the percent increase or decrease that weather alone has on sales year-over-year. In 2016, Planalytics provided analysis to several major publications on how warm weather on the East Coast affected the 2015 holiday shopping season[3] and the effects of Winter Storm Jonas on businesses hit by the storm.[4][5]

Planalytics was incorporated as Strategic Weather Services in 1996.[6] Planalytics, Inc. has issued and pending patents protected by United States and international law.[7]
