Podcasting in India
Podcasting in India is at a very nascent stage, despite the fact that the nation has a large number of active bloggers. Many of the current Indian podcasts seem to cater to the NRI community as podcasting inside India is still not very popular due to bandwidth constraints. There are approximately 3000 Indian podcasters around, who offer programmes in English, Hinglish and various other Indian languages, predominantly Tamil.
Audiomatic, which launched in April, 2015, is India's first podcast network. It offers varied programming, with topics ranging from science, culture and food to current affairs and comedy. The Indicast is the most consistent and widespread podcast network producing podcast on Indian current affairs, Business, technology, Hindi movies and expert interviews. Febler, a relatively new startup, is aiming to provide a platform for podcast creation and sharing in India.[1] It brings News and Entertainment in audio from various aggregated sources and created by their own team.[2] Live talk shows from mobile phone is one of the highlighting features of Febler.
