Poikilassos

Poikilassos (Ποικιλασσός in Greek) is an ancient city (Greek, Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic period) in west Crete, at Trypiti cape, between Sougia and Agia Roumeli. Poikilasion was not an autonomous city, as it belongs to Elyros.

In the town there was found inscription that testifies the existence of Temple of Serapes. There were also found hollowed tombs in the rocks and marble pits. Ptolemy calls it Poikilasion. In the 918 Code of Markian Library, it is called Pecilasio overo Pescalio.
