Pokkunuru is a village in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Chandarlapadu mandal of Vijayawada revenue division.[1][2] It is one of the villages in the mandal to be a part of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region.[3]

"Andhra Pithamaha" Madapati Hanumantha Rao (1885–1970) social reformer of Hyderabad was born in this village.[4]

On 2013 panchayat elections were conducted and komati prabhkarao is the present sarpanch from Telugu Desam Party.
