Polemon bocourti, or Bocourt's snake-eater, is a species of venomous rear-fanged snake in the Atractaspididae family.[1] It is endemic to Africa.[2]
Etymology
The specific name, bocourti, is in honor of French herpetologist Marie Firmin Bocourt.[3]
Geographic range
It is found in Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and Rio Muni.[4]
Description
Polemon bocourti is similar to Polemon barthii, but is distinguished from it by having two postoculars, and by having a lower number of ventrals, only 199-202.[5]
