Ponneri is a city located at North Chennai in Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in Ponneri taluk. The neighbourhood is served by the Ponneri railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. Ponneri is selected among 100 cities for Smart city Development.
Geography
Ponneri is located at 13°19′N 80°12′E / 13.32°N 80.2°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 16 metres (52 feet).
