Pontardawe railway station

Pontardawe railway station was a railway station on the Swansea Vale Railway that ran along the River Tawe British Railways closed the station to passengers in 1950 but the line continued carrying coal until the station closed completely in 1964 as coal mining in Pontardawe was declining in the 1960s.

It was sited next to the Gwachel public house and the Victorian bridge over the Tawe.
