Porcelain is a Danish rock band formed in 1996 by the two brothers Peter Urban and Jesper Urban and their all time friend and childhood neighbour Anders Lorentzen. The original line-up was:

Lovesize

The band recorded their first 4-track single “Lovesize” in the studio Sweet Silence (Metallica, Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets) together with producer Leo Wassinger. The song “Lovesize” received airplay from national and local radio stations and lead to interest from various major and independent labels. During 1997, the band accepted an offer from the Indy label [Lidocaine]. The band started writing new songs for a full-length album. In the summer 1997 the band left for Manchester UK, to record with the producer and composer Mark Pilkington. The band wanted to bring more electronic elements to the music and Mark Pilkinton was a perfect match. The new album was named Perfect Daze and released in 1997. Before the recording Anders Lorentzen decided to leave the band and was soon replaced by Morten Pauck.

Perfect Daze

Perfect Daze received reviews across the music press. The album was appreciated by the growing fan base and the band did their first national tour in the spring 1998. The violinist Vivi ... joined the band for the tour. Jakob Mørkholt decided to leave the band and he was replaced by Christian Odor. During the tour Porcelain played shows together with “The Ark” - the most successful Swedish band since ABBA. Porcelain also played a memorial concert for US legend Jeff Buckley together with major national artists of Steen Jørgensen (Sort Sol), Kasper Eistrup (Kashmir), Mikael Simpson and Hanne Boel.

Tomorrow will be Great

After the tour the band started writing new songs for a follow-up album to Perfect Daze. The band also started recording demos and songs with the previously Los Angeles based Swedish Producer Magnus Groth. The recording took place in the newly built studio “The Space”. Together with Magnus Groth Porcelain headed into a more melodic and less noisy direction. The new album took the title “Tomorrow will be great” and was released in 2001. The album was followed up by a tour playing a couple of shows with National big act Tim Christensen

Glittergirl

In 2006 the band formed a new line-up with drummer Jesper Valentin Holm and Niels Ole Præstbo as lead singer Peter Urban wanted to create a more authentic and tight rock sound. The new formation spawned a lot of fresh energy and the band soon decided to start recording the newly created material. The band teamed up with the experienced rock producer Morten Munck from the renowned Millfactory studio. The recordings resulted in the band's second 4-track single. The song "Glittergirl" made it "song of the week" on the American music network Reverb Nation. The band celebrated the success playing a short tour.
