Porkbelly Futures

Porkbelly Futures is a Canadian blues music group.[1]

Biography

They are unique in that many of the members originally found success in other fields: former lead singer Paul Quarrington (1953-2010) was a writer and filmmaker; guitarist/harmonica player Stuart Laughton is a classical trumpet player with an international reputation as is bass player Chas Elliott (Toronto Symphony). Vocalist Rebecca Campbell is a seminal member of the band, and now shares the duties of lead singer with Martin Worthy (drums/vocals/guitar). Guitarist Teddy Leonard now performs with the band full-time. Richard Bell played keyboards until his death in 2007.

Recordings

Their first CD, "Way Past Midnight" released by Opening Night Recordings and Judy Collins's Wildflower Records, spent six months on the American roots/blues charts. The band's second disc "Porkbelly Futures" was released in April 2008 on Cordova Bay Records. Their latest CD "The Crooked Road" released November 2010 is also on Cordova Bay Records.
