History
The centre originated as a $9 million development now known as the "Port Canal Shopping Centre", which included a Super Kmart and opened on 22 November 1986, making it South Australia’s first hypermarket.[1]
The site was subject to a $23 million upgrade, which added significant retail space to the area.[1]
In 1998 the Port Canal Shopping Centre was purchased by Precision Group for $36 million.[2][3][4][5]
In July 2014 the Port Adelaide Council approved a $10 million upgrade of the Port Canal Shopping Centre.[6]
