Portland Reign

The Portland Reign was an American Basketball Association (ABA) team based in Portland, Oregon.[1] The club played just one season.

History

Mary Liss founded the team,[2] with funding coming from Terry Emmert (who later owned the Portland Chinooks) of Emmert International.[3] The team began play in the Fall of 2004. Having posted a 4-8 record the team ceased operations after one season. Games were to be played at the Oregon Convention Center.[2]

7'3" South Korean center Ha Seung-Jin, drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2004, played for the Reign before joining the Portland Trail Blazers mid-season.
