Porumamilla is a village in Kadapa district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Porumamilla mandal of Rajampeta revenue division.[1]

Geography

Porumamilla is located at 15°01′00″N 78°59′00″E / 15.0167°N 78.9833°E / 15.0167; 78.9833,.[2] near Badvel. It has an average elevation of 176 meters (580 feet).

History

According to the Mahābhārata, Porumamilla got its name from a battle that took place here between Bhima and Bakasura during the Mahabharata war.
