Postal orders of Nigeria

It is not yet known when postal orders began to be issued in Nigeria, but they are still being issued today.

Nigerian-issued British postal orders

It is not yet known when these began to be issued, but it is known that they were withdrawn from sale during the 1960s, due to the imposition of foreign exchange controls.

Nigerian postal orders

These began to be issued during the 1960s. The first two issues were denominated in Nigerian pounds, shillings, and pence. These were replaced in 1973, when Nigeria changed over to the decimal currency of Naira and Kobo.
