Postbaccalaureate program

Some colleges and universities offer programs for which a first undergraduate degree is a pre-requisite, but which are usually not considered traditional graduate education. Such programs are sometimes offered under the umbrella of continuing education and may lead to a second graduate degree, a certificate or credential, or to a pre-medical master's degree in a field such as biomedical or health sciences. In addition, students with a Bachelor's Degree, who wish to pursue a Masters Degree in a field other than their BS/BA degree, may be admitted to a college or university program to earn the necessary credits in their new chosen subject. These are commonly referred to as post-baccalaureate programs. Such courses of study may be used to prepare students for graduate or professional school or for a different career or profession.
