Powelliphanta annectens is one of the amber snails, an air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae. It is a protected species with very limited distribution.
Distribution
This species occurs in the northern parts of the South Island of New Zealand.[1] The only individuals have been found in the vicinity of the Oparara River.[2]
Life cycle
The shape of the eggs of this species is oval. They are seldom constant in dimensions, varying from 9 × 8 mm to 9 × 8.5 mm.[3]
