Prabhakaran Paleri

Dr. Prabhakaran Paleri is a former Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard officer, scholar in national security studies, and presently, an academician.[1] Paleri served as the 16th Director General of Indian Coast Guard from 28 Feb 2006 to 31 August 2006.[2]

Education

Paleri completed his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Calicut and obtained Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Madras in 1978.

He is a Fellow of Narotham Morarji Institute of Shipping, Mumbai.

He is also a graduate from the National Defense University, Washington DC, with master's degree in National Security Strategy and obtained multi-disciplinary doctorate from the University of Madras in Business Administration and Defence Studies for thesis, 'Changing Concept of National Security and a Maritime Model for India'.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of international fellows at the National Defense University, Washington, D.C. in 2009.
