Homeostasis is the process by which the body remains in balance. This is fundamentalized by the various organs, enzymes, and hormones that monitor and counteract any malfunctions that precipitate. The body easily allows itself to balance quickly with the environment to avoid any sudden changes within the body.

Predictive homeostasis is an anticipatory response to an expected homeostatic challenging event in the future. Seasonal migration is one example of predictive homeostasis.
