Prema (Telugu: ప్రేమ) is a 1952 Telugu drama film produced and directed by P. S. Ramakrishna Rao of Bharani Pictures and starring A. Nageswara Rao and P. Bhanumathi. Bhanumathi wrote the story for the first time. It is simultaneously made into Tamil language entitled Kaadhal (Tamil: காதல்).

Plot

Mothi (Bhanumathi) is a poor Lambadi girl in a village. Raja (Nageswara Rao) came to see the rural nature. He is attracted to the beauty of Mothi and both love each other. He goes home town and forgets her. Meanwhile, Mothi's father settles her marriage with Parasuram (Mukkamala). She escapes from home to avoid marriage and reach the town. She joins a dance troupe and giving performances. She identifies Raja with Lata (Sriranjani) in one of her shows and goes into shock. Unable to find Mothi, Raja marries Latha. Before the facts are known, Parasuram kills Mothi, while Mothi's friend kills Parasuram.
