Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lippe (b. 1939)

Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lippe (Wilhelm Friedrich Harald Christian Ernst August Karl Gustav zu Schaumburg-Lippe, born 19 August 1939) is the head of the Nachod branch of the princely house of Schaumburg-Lippe. Wilhelm is the son of Prince Christian Nicholas of Schaumburg-Lippe, and the great-grandson of Frederick VIII of Denmark.[1]

He married Ilona Hentschel Baronin von Gelgenheimb on 17 January 1971. They had two children:

Although related to the Danish Royal Family, under Danish law he is not in line to inherit the throne as he is not a descendant of Christian X. He is, however, in line of succession to the British throne, being a descendant of George II of the United Kingdom, through his daughter Queen Louisa of Denmark and Norway.[2]
