Provident Bangalore was a Bangalore Rural based Twenty20 cricket team part of the Karnataka Premier League. The team was owned by the Melmont Constructions, one of India's leading developers.[1] Provident Bangalore finished second on the points table in the opening season of KPL. They won finial won by five wickets (with four balls remaining) against Belagavi Panthers.[2]
In the KPL Player Auction, the team bought young batsman Balachandra Akhil as the auction’s most expensive player. Balachandra Akhil was the captain of the team.[3][4][5][6]
