Pruzhany Palace

Pruzhany Palace (Belarusian: Пружанскі палацык) is a museum in Pruzhany town, Brest Voblast (province), Western Belarus. Located in the former mansion of 19th century. Its address: Savetskaya street, 50.

The mansion is a monument of manor architecture of the Neo-Renaissance era.[1]

Activity

The museum has a rich collection on the history and arts of the region.

About 8000 tourists visit the museum annually. Display in the museum is represented by more than 6000 items. Almost all the show-pieces are given to the museum for free.[2]

Along with scientific life, museum workers hold lectures, excursions across the town and district, organize arts, historical area study and educational exhibitions. Museum holds musical and poetic programs, scientific conferences.

Architectural Ensemble

Mansion ensemble includes a two-store stone house with two wings. The greenhouse was reconstructed.

Park

There is a wide lane that joins the mansion area with town. The lane is located in the park of the landscape type. The park occupies territory of more than 8 square kilometers. Ashes, alders, hornbeams, and oaks prevail in the park.

The park was laid out by a wealthy Polish landlord Walenty Szwykowski in the mid-19th century.
