Pseudomonas citronellolis is a Gram-negative bacterium that is used to study the mechanisms of pyruvate carboxylase.[1] It was first isolated from forest soil, under pine trees, in northern Virginia, United States.[2] Based on 16S rRNA analysis, P. citronellolis has been placed in the P. aeruginosa group.[3] P. citronellolis has also been found capable of the biosynthesis of polyhydroxyal-kanoates from "linear mono- and dicarboxylic acids", a type of bacteria synthesized polyester.[4]
