Puerto Rico FC is a Puerto Rican football club based in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Founded in 2015, the team will play in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier in the American soccer pyramid. PRFC will play home games at the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón.

History

In June 2015, owner Carmelo Anthony - an American of Puerto Rican heritage - with NASL announced a Puerto Rican expansion team scheduled to join the North American Soccer League (NASL) in time for the 2016 season. On August 14, 2015, announced Adrian Whitbread as head coach and Neil Sillett as technical director. He followed that by appointing Thomas Payne as president of the club on November 10, 2015.[2][3]

Puerto Rico FC will be the second NASL team to have represented Puerto Rico, replacing the Puerto Rico Islanders, who had ceased operations after the 2012 season.
