Q Link Wireless is a United States-based wireless telecommunications provider founded by Issa Asad in Dania, Florida, in 2011. More specifically, it provides the federal Lifeline Program to eligible American consumers.
Q Link Wireless provides a free cell phone with a certain amount of allotted airtime each month for low-income-eligible individuals who do not already have a Lifeline account. Furthermore, Lifeline service is limited to one benefit per household. The Lifeline service is funded through the Universal Service Fund, but is only available in some states.[1] Applications for service may be done through the Q Link Wireless homepage, by telephone, or by mailing or faxing the application form. Customers may purchase more minutes once their free monthly benefit is exhausted.[2]
Lifeline Plans
Q Link Wireless offers three service plans (This may vary in certain states):
- 68 Monthly Minute Plan (with 544 maximum text messages)
- 125 Monthly Minute Plan (with 1,000 maximum text messages)
- 250 Monthly Minute Plan (with 2,000 maximum text messages)
- Oklahoma Customers can receive lifeline discounts, 1,000 minutes with 3,000 maximum texts for $1 a month or unlimited voice with no texting for $5.75 a month.
- Colorado only offers the 250 minute plan at this time but can purchase 1,000 monthly minutes for $21.75 a month.
All plans offer local calling, national long distance calling, voicemail, nationwide text messaging, roaming and free 911. The 250 Monthly Minute Plan does not have a carry-over feature, while the 125 and 68 Monthly Minute Plan does carry over the minutes to the next month. Only the 68 Monthly Minute Plan offers International Long Distance calling.[2]
Additional minutes can be purchased starting at just $10!
